TCU Composition Recital: Felicity Mazur-Park
Fellowship at the Martins at 6 before the concert. Ask Bill or Christine at church for address etc.
Come hear new music composed by Felicity! This is the second of four recitals I will give as part of her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at TCU! This will be her last composition recital as a student, as the next two recitals will be organ recitals.
The program will include:
Act 4 from my opera The Seagull directed by Debbie Seitter, featuring Kamryn Wheeler, David Carriaga Hobbs, Jace Mankins, me, and collaborative pianist Dr. Huan Yang!!
Gravitating Towards Pitch - a new percussion work performed by Rey Miranda
Midsummer Magic - performed by Diego Torres Reyes (bass clarinet) and me (organ)
The Red Shoes - performed by Nicolas Mirabile (viola) and me (piano)
Ancient, Modern Sounds performed by the Q365 Saxophone Quartet (featuring Mike Korson)
Fantasia on a Madrigal by Gesualdo performed by Svetlana Eminova (piano and harpsichord) and me (organ)
A Melodic Sacrifice Upon Dawn (from my Boston Conservatory days) performed by David Diaz (flute) and Maddie Purvis (flute)
and a brand new organ solo work performed by Felicity!
For those who are interested, the Martins are hosting a social time at 6 pm before the concert and then we will walk up to Ed Landreth Auditorium.
