As we continue to emphasize our core value of discipleship and develop the process for it in the parish - called Family Formation - I mentioned that I am implementing two types of covenants, one for lay leaders and one for lay teachers. These Covenants, taken from Scripture and the Constitution & Canons of the ACNA, serve as an explicit statement of theological identity for our parish, a standard for lay leadership and teaching among our people, and a witness to the world of "the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints." These covenants will be available in final form, following our vestry retreat on February 27; however, I am offering them to you now in draft form for your edification. While I will have more details to communicate after the retreat, especially about implementation and application, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
In conclusion, in an uncertain and unstable world, I am very excited about this development at this time in the life of our parish. People are looking for a firm place to stand and for leadership that is willing to back the truth of Scripture, as passed down from generation to generation, and this will be part of our effort to take our stand in our day.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Chris Culpepper+
