In Luke 10, Jesus sends 72 disciples out to different towns and tells them: “Heal their sick and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’” These were 72 ordinary people. We don’t even know their names! They went out and did as Jesus commanded because he gave them the authority to do so. “Lord, even the demons obeyed when we spoke in your name!” they told him excitedly. A disciple is defined as someone who imitates the master, and this is a perfect Biblical example.
