This presentation will address the Seven Seasons of continuing excavations at Tel Abel Beth Maacah in Northern Israel bordering Lebanon and Syria. The site’s material findings contribute to the understanding of her role in the Hula Valley settlement system with regard to both Tel Dan and Hazor, especially in the Bronze and Iron Ages. Together with the story of a Wise Woman in II Samuel 20:14-22, a unique installation within a cultic room context, a specialized industrial complex, and other remains, the history of Abel Beth Maacah will tell its tale.
