Dear CTR Family,
In case you don't know it by now, my heart beats to discipleship. I love our Lord Jesus Christ and His Church,
and I love to see people follow Him daily, in big ways and in small ways. I love when people, made in the image of God,
willingly choose and decide to follow Jesus Christ. I love that our mission at
CTR, first and foremost, is the Great Commandment and Great Commission -- to
love the Lord our God, to love others, and to make disciples. I strongly believe that we are faithful in
this and, of course, God is faithful to us. So, I want to share just a few things
in the ministry of Christ the Redeemer, how we are making disciples in youth,
college, and young adult ministries.
BECAUSE YOU GAVE, CTR is able to form young disciples of Christ in
our youth ministry. We are able to
provide a rich and vibrant worship, both traditional and contemporary. We were able to host a Confirmation
preparation for several of our students to grow in the knowledge of love of
God, and will soon receive the laying on of hands for the strengthening of the
Holy Spirit. This summer, we were able
to send many students to Camp Crucis, mission trips, and retreats. We are able to invest in the lives of young
disciples, providing opportunities for them to know Jesus, and make Him known.
BECAUSE YOU GAVE, we are able to provide ongoing pastoral care to
our out-of-town college students. We
send them care packages a couple times a year, to let them know we are praying
for them, we are supporting them, and we are wanting them to maintain an active life of faith in college. This past spring, we were able to have a
college-aged Bible study, where several young ladies could get into the Word,
discuss the Christian faith, and grow together.
We were able to send several college students to the annual College
Retreat, and we are able to grow our music ministry by reaching into the gifts
and talents of TCU students.
BECAUSE YOU GAVE, CTR is able to meet young adults where they are,
and bring them into an active relationship with Jesus Christ. Our young adult ministry hosts a
Theology on Tap and encourages young
adults to not only worship the living God, but serve Him on Sunday morning
ministries. We are able to reach far
beyond our walls with online presence -- website, social media, youtube videos
etc, showing that CTR is a dynamic church where anyone can find community,
purpose and meaning.
Finally, BECAUSE YOU GAVE, CTR keeps discipleship a main priority
because it is God's priority. We have
good news to share, we have a great God to trust, and we have wonderful
opportunities here to make disciples of all nations and ages.
Thank you for your generous gifts!
