Dear Christ the Redeemer Family,
This time of year, we customarily offer our "Because You Gave" articles as an encouragement and inspiration to the congregation that your giving to the mission and ministry of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church makes a difference in the world around us and for the Kingdom of God. Accordingly, and with a bigger picture in mind, the articles and testimonies we are prayerfully publishing this year will not only reflect and highlight our "labor in the vineyard" over this last year, but will also place those stories within the broader sweep and narrative of our hopes, dreams, visions and plans for our CTR community going forward.
For, as I mentioned in The Chronicles earlier this week, the last time we were together we were celebrating the first 10 years of our life as this church family. We told stories of the firm foundation we are building at CTR, based on solid biblical principles and a clear vision. Now, as we come together again this upcoming Sunday, we will begin to imagine our future, building on the history and heritage we are establishing as we look forward to the next 10 years and beyond!
Yet, we know our history and heritage is not ours alone. In fact, as the Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:20-22, it is "Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him, you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit."
Therefore, I am pleased to say that the emphases of these articles are: Faith, Hope, and Love. We trust the stories God has given us to share will help us to see the goodness, grace, and glory of God in our midst and how we will prayerfully and cooperatively respond in doing our part to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Chris Culpepper, Rector
